Welcome to the 20th Annual Walk for Rice

Help us raise $200,000 for the ACRS Food Bank!

In 1991, a small group of committed volunteers coordinated the first ever Walk for Rice, an event dedicated to ending hunger in the community. Then, a mere 45 participants raised $2,500 for the Asian Counseling and Referral Service Food Bank. Today, we expect more than 1,200 walkers to attend the 20th Annual Walk for Rice as we strive toward our goal of raising $200,000.

Located in the International District, the ACRS Food Bank is the second most-used food bank in King County and the only provider to regularly distribute foods that meet Asian Pacific American dietary needs. In the past year, ACRS Food Bank has had nearly 5,000 visits from unduplicated individuals- 60 percent of whom are children under the age of 18 and elders the average age of 75.

Now, more than ever, the ACRS Food Bank is an important safety net for the most vulnerable families in our community, and supporting Walk for Rice is a fun and easy way to help. The theme of the event is "Because every grain counts," and we believe it. Every bag of rice collected, every dollar donated, and every person educated about the impacts of hunger is a step towards ending it. Please consider joining us at the 20th Annual Walk for Rice on Saturday, June 19. Your support does make a difference.
